Harnessing more than 30 years of hotel and resort experience with the largest hotel group in the world, Craig Hunt brings to his Chief Executive role an expertise in marketing, operations and development that provides strategic decision-making to fulfill the Cortex mission of developing the highest-quality, environmentally-sound resort communities. Hunt is former Vice-Chairman of Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts (previously named Six Continents Hotels during his tenure) and President of Holiday Inn Hotels – as Chief Executive Officer,
maintaining full responsibility for operations, development and marketing of more than 150 owned and 3,000 franchised hotels world-wide. In 1999, Hunt was promoted to Vice-Chairman of Bass Hotels & Resorts.
Derek Parker has corporate responsibility for all financial
activities of Cortex Companies. A Certified Public Accountant,
Parker has more than 20 years experience in research, financial
analysis and capital acquisition for major corporate expansion
and real estate development. With Parker's financial leadership,
Cortex Companies has grown from a single property in 2001 into
the premier developer of luxury lifestyle communities in the
Florida Keys, with projects totaling more than $600 million.
Parker was born and raised in Key West and in 1975 was named
the State of Florida's Most Valuable Player in Little Major
League baseball. After graduating from Key West High School,
he attended The Florida State University on a baseball scholarship,
where he earned degrees in accounting and finance.
Everett Atwell has corporate responsibility for strategic
planning and property development of all Cortex communities.
Under Atwell's leadership, Cortex Companies has grown from a
single property in 2001, into the premier developer of luxury
lifestyle communities in the Florida Keys, with projects
totaling more than $600 million. Born and raised in Key West,
Atwell draws upon his extensive local knowledge to acquire
the most attractive properties, then partners Cortex real
estate with themes influenced by the unique history and
geography of the Keys. Atwell is a graduate of Key West
High School and the University of Notre Dame, where he
earned the Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
Tim Koenig (KAY-nig) is recognized as one of the premier
real estate attorneys in the Florida Keys and has corporate
responsibility for all legal issues relating to Cortex
Companies. Koenig chaired the committee that developed
Monroe County's original comprehensive plan in the late
1980's and over a 20-plus year legal career has served
as counsel for numerous real estate development projects
in Florida. Koenig is a Key West native and graduated
from Mary Immaculate High School. He earned both an
undergraduate and law degree at The Florida State University.
Ralph Sanchez is a principal broker for one of the legendary
real estate sales dynasties in the Florida Keys and has
corporate responsibility for sale of all properties in Cortex
Company communities. A Key West native and graduate of Key
West High School, Sanchez has grown into a leadership role
at Sanchez Century 21 All Keys, Inc., with an understanding
of both the subtle and complex requirements of the luxury
lifestyle market. Sanchez has extensive experience in commercial
and residential sales, as well as hotel development consulting.
He earned a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management at St. Leo College. |
